Former restaurant owners Placida and François Will bought La Chaumiere restaurant in 1994. This restaurant in Font-Romeu had become known for serving typically traditional dishes such as the much-loved ‘père Olive’ crêpes – named after the restaurant’s founder. The Wills sold the restaurant in 2003 to pursue other professional interests, but a unique opportunity presented itself for them to buy it back and they jumped at the chance to follow their dream. After updating both the décor and the menus they now pride themselves on serving traditional French/Catalan dishes in a cosy yet sophisticated setting – all with a modern international twist.
As well as proving popular with several French celebrities, La Chaumière has been listed in both Toques Blanches du Roussillon and the famous Michelin guide for several years.
